LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announces his intent to grant clemency to a Boone County man convicted of murdering 15-year-old John Melbourne, Jr. of Harrison in 1996.

The clemency, recommended by the state parole board earlier this year, would commute the sentence of 41-year-old Jason McGehee from death by execution to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
