BRANSON, Mo. – The Branson Board of Aldermen approves final reading of an ordinance calling for an election to impose a new half-cent public safety sales tax supporting police, fire and emergency medical services.

Prior to approving two amendments to the measure Tuesday night, the board and city staff spent some time discussing the option.

Police Chief and Interim City Administrator Stan Dobbins stated he is conservative and hates the idea of a new tax, but with how the budget is set up under current funding sources, this is the only way he sees to equip …read more
